JG’s Telecommunications Division understands that development & construction of communications systems needs to be performed by a team of professionals having the requisite experience. Our office staff is headed by a team of Graduate Engineers who not only have many years of construction experience, but also have a working knowledge of the design and technical parameters specific to the telecommunications industry.
JG is different than most other telecommunication contractors, turf vendors and construction managers because, from the office to the field, all project phases are handled using JG in-house personnel. We believe that by self-performing the work, tight controls can be maintained on quality, safety and schedule.

STORY
JG Contracting Company, Inc. is a full-service, bid-build & design-build, self-performing specialty contractor.
Its Telecommunications group has many decades of experience in planning, designing, and constructing the infrastructure for Telecommunications Facilities and all things associated with the process. JG has “touched” thousands of Telecom Facilities nationwide beginning from site identification through system maintenance and problem remediation.
Its Geotechnical & Structural group performs expert geotechnical engineering, and associated design-build services for its Telecommunications group, Energy (Coal, Gas & Oil) customers as well as Private Sector construction customers.
Its Specialty Construction group provides services mostly as a compliment to its other Service groups such as custom design and fabrication of structural elements for telecommunication sites, general construction and project management for work surrounding its projects, and work involving very specialized foundation and shoring projects.

More about Jim
Jim is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1986. Since that time, he has worked full-time in design and construction of deep and shallow foundations, slope remediation, earth retention systems and telecommunications construction. Using this expertise, JG is consulted on a regular basis by engineering professionals for foundation design and applicable construction methods in every type of subsurface soil mantle. Jim’s specific expertise and leadership ensures JG’s engineering and design-build processes are properly developed, cost-effective and efficiently deployed.

John is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1987. Upon graduation, John worked as a Project Engineer/Project Manager for two very large national construction management firms and contractors where he gained invaluable experience in planning, estimating and managing large-scale development and construction projects. He brought that experience to JG’s Telecommunications and Geotechnical & Structural Divisions and leads JG’s Estimators and Project Management Team for all JG projects. John’s 30 years of construction experience, know-how and innovative ideas have set the standard for the reputation JG enjoys today.
ERIC M. RONZIO

More about Eric
Eric is a 1996 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. Upon graduation, Eric had several employment opportunities. He took special interest in and accepted an offer from a national deep foundation contractor. He spent several years learning deep foundation construction then moved on to a very large general contractor/construction manager where he was part of a team building the NASCAR Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL. Eric joined the JG team in 2001. He brought with him requisite and valuable experience in deep foundation construction and management of very large construction projects and, over the past 15 years, he has continued to develop that experience within the Telecommunications sector.
Eric manages JG’s Central Region and has been directly responsible for managing JG’s nation-wide, multi-million dollar Telecommunications development projects over the last 10 years. Eric’s client list while at JG has included all four branches of the United States Military, Department of Defense, Department of Energy as well as dozens of State, County and Local governments. These demanding clients recognize JG’s ability through the hard work, expert knowledge and professionalism of Eric and the rest of the JG Senior Management Team.

Joe began working in the Telecommunications construction sector in 1996 during the nationwide infrastructure build-out. During this period, the pace was feverish and, leading the construction effort of thousands of telecommunication sites, Joe learned a lifetime of valuable knowledge in a very short time. Joe’s expertise encompasses details of every aspect of site development requirements from carrier radio needs to regulatory to construction to radio system installation and operation.
Joe joined the JG team in 2003 bringing with him the knowledge and experience he gained in the previous 7 years specializing in system construction and installation/integration of material and equipment for the major wireless carriers. Joe has continued to develop his expertise as the communications industry unfolds and changes at a very rapid pace.
Joe’s decades of telecommunication-specific experience along with his lifetime of concrete and general construction experience makes him a very important member of the JG Senior Management Team. He continues to concentrate his efforts on marketplace installation and implementation of the ever-changing technological advances of the major wireless carriers.
FRED S. TARQUINIO, P.E.

More about Fred
Fred earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1989. Over the past 25 years, Fred has worked specifically as a geotechnical engineer and also a design engineer responsible for designing, bidding and constructing large-scale deep foundation projects and earth retention systems. He also has 20 years of management experience in both roles. Fred is a Professional Engineer licensed in the Commonwealths of Pennsylvania and Virginia and the states of Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Florida, and the District of Columbia. Fred has authored, co-authored and presented several papers and case studies with regards to geotechnical design and construction. Fred is a past member of ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers), DFI (Deep Foundations Institute), and ADSC (International Association of Foundation Drilling).
Through Fred’s expertise, JG’s Senior Management Team serves as a vital information source for many geotechnical & structural professionals during the design phase of deep foundation and earth retention projects.
EDWARD E. KNISPEL
General Superintendent
More about Ed
Ed began working as a union carpenter’s apprentice in 1987 shortly after graduating high school. He quickly worked his way up to journeyman and then to General Foreman working on Heavy Highway projects in Arizona, California and Texas. He was responsible for leading his crew to construct false work and concrete forms for overhead roadway trestles and foundations. Ed has 32 years of construction experience. He has been JG’s General Superintendent for the last 17 years and is directly responsible for the performance of the entire field staff and all of its activities. Ed has extensive hands-on experience in general construction and specific experience in Telecommunications construction and equipment deployment. His experience extends to the use of heavy equipment and large service cranes.
Ed is an integral and invaluable member of the JG Senior Management Team. His knowledge, proficiency, and attention to detail assure our customers a professional relationship and a superior product.
CHRISTOPHER M. KRZYZANOWSKI

Chris began working in the Telecommunications Industry in 1996 as an entry-level tower hand. From 1996 through the present time, he has learned the requisite skills necessary to perform most work associated with Cellular and Radio Telecommunications.
Chris uses his decades of experience, attention to detail and expert skills to lead JG’s group of tower riggers and technicians in all aspects of tower work including, erecting all types of towers, tower modifications, installation and troubleshooting lighting systems, all things related to high performance microwave dishes, path alignment, satellite dishes, and internal BDA systems. Chris is recognized as an expert in the processes and procedures related to the implementation of every generation of cellular and mobile radio communications equipment.
Chris has quickly become a key member of the JG Senior Management Team. His knowledge and strong work ethic set an industry-wide example of true professionalism resulting in complete customer satisfaction.
