Superior Quality. Exceptional Results.
At JG, Superior Quality, Self-Performance, and Accountability are more than just a tagline–every project we undertake is a testament to those values.
Turnkey Construction of Achille 320’ Self-Supporting Tower Site and Truman Dam 400’ Self-Supporting Tower Site. Ancillary work included fiber optics, tower removal, emergency power systems, and Microwave and Land Mobile Radio system installations.
Self-Supporting Tower and Water Tank Modifications
Turnkey construction of Ridge Substation, Self Supporting Tower Site, and Colocation of antenna systems on Prince Frederick, MD public water tank. Ancillary work included coax duct bank, tower removal, emergency power systems, water tank modifications, and Microwave and Land Mobile Radio system installations.
JG was instrumental in developing the soil nail and shotcrete wall concept required to retain the earth from a new roadway embankment at an existing Facility in Middletown, Pennsylvania. JG constructed a 500-foot long, 10,500 square-foot soil nail and shotcrete wall in order to re-align a service road at the facility. The wall averaged 21 feet in height, with a maximum height of approximately 30 feet. JG installed 400 soil nails and placed over 700 cubic yards of shotcrete. After the structural shotcrete was placed, JG installed an architectural finish.
JG designed and constructed a soldier pile and pre-cast lagging retaining wall at the South Allegheny Elementary School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. The retaining wall was designed to provide global stability to the existing fill slope that was previously constructed for the building pad. The wall included a total of 38 soldier piles drilled 50 feet deep, one (1) row of permanent anchors, and 4,800 square feet of pre-cast concrete lagging. The work also included drainage and earthwork to restructure the slope.
JG designed and installed multiple cast-in-place concrete wash line pits. The work included geotechnical design parameters and detailed structural designs of the pits and all steel embedments, structural members, and steel plate covers for plant traffic. Especially challenging in this facility are the high variables and difficult subsurface conditions.
JG designed and installed single and multi-level foundations for this state-of-the-art equipment in very poor soil conditions. Deep excavations required underpinning of existing adjacent column footings, along with structural excavation shoring systems consisting of drilled-in soldier piles with wood lagging. The large equipment foundation supports consisted of conventional spread footings supplemented with twenty-two (22) each, 70’ deep helical piles for the heavy point loads.
JG designed and installed 114 micropiles to support a new office building at the Waterfront Development in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The piles were designed for 300 kips in compression and averaged approximately 70 feet deep. Micropiles were required for foundation support for this project due to the existing fill materials at the site, along with the karst topography underlying the fill. JG also performed a micropile load test with a 600 kip maximum test load.
JG installed the foundation for a state-of-the-art conveyor system at the main loading dock area of the facility. The work required concrete demolition and excavation inside the existing facility. Work had to be performed using strict controls for dust containment and occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, both of which added further challenges to the project. All work required tight scheduling with the Operations Manager to maintain access for the facility to operate in conjunction with our work.
Infrastructure Systems for Public Safety LMR and Microwave Systems
Turnkey development of raw land tower sites, equipment colocations, and custom infrastructure system installations. Site development services routinely begin with regulatory compliance and engineering design, followed by self-performing on-site civil construction, tower erection, transmission line, and antenna installations.
